A Nigerian male pilgrim taking part in the 2026 Hajj exercise has reportedly died in Muzdalifah, Saudi Arabia, shortly after arriving from Arafat. The deceased, who is believed to be from Bauchi State, reportedly passed away in the early hours of Wednesday during the overnight movement of pilgrims between Arafat and Muzdalifah.
According to Daily Trust, Saudi security officials and emergency medical workers were seen evacuating the body soon after the incident occurred. Witnesses said Saudi police officers, accompanied by members of an emergency medical team, wheeled the pilgrim away from the area, while two officials believed to be attached to the Bauchi State pilgrims contingent followed the evacuation process.
The report added that authorities had not officially confirmed the identity of the deceased, while the exact cause of death remained unknown. The incident happened during one of the most strenuous phases of the Hajj pilgrimage, which requires pilgrims to move continuously between holy sites amid large crowds and harsh weather conditions.
